Message from BC Centre for Ability:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank your club’s great support. I hope all of you had enjoyed yourselves at the Dining for Dreams last Thursday. I also hope that our Heroes’ stories have touched your heart and that you have a better understanding of the great work of the BC Centre for Ability.

Despite the worries we had in the past few months due to the economy, we reached our goal of having 30 tables, a total of 297 guests attending the event, 34 guests more than last year. People were showing up at the door to buy tickets, and that was at 6 pm and we were glad we could accommodate them. Out of the 87 silent auction items (23 more items than last year), 86 of them were sold.  For most of the live auction items it was thrilling to see excitement in the form of bidding wars. Insieme’s performance captivated the guests and received nothing but grand applause. The event ended on a high note with our own pioneer, Michael Wittman, Hero of Ability 2008, winning the 50/50 draw.  Michael generously donated the winnings back to the Centre.

In the scheme of the economy, we are proud to announce that Dining for Dreams 2009 raised a total of $122,218.81, We met our goal of keeping our expenses at 20% of the gross revenue. Attached are your pictures. Please pass them along!
